I’ve been teaching in Marin County and San Francisco for 10 years and the name of my business is called compassion piano lessons because that’s what they are :-) 

I’m very kind and flexible and get along with kids of all ages from 10 to 80. 

I try to instill in my students the same kind of love of piano that I have. My main goal is that people will simply enjoy playing. That's why they call it playing. It's supposed to be fun, not drudgery, as I've heard from so many.
It does take work, and it’s a long process if you really want to be good at it, but I want this process to also be enjoyable for everyone. 

I often have to be a bit of a psychologist when working with people. It's amazing how many people, mostly adults, continually put themselves down and are very critical of themselves, and also have lots of fears about playing in front of others. Believe me, this kind of thinking doesn't get you anywhere. So a good part of my work is totally dispelling these notions, and just making everybody comfortable with their playing and their progress.

My lessons are very individually tailored, I definitely do not believe one size fits all. Every one of us is unique, and we learn at our own pace, and each one of us has our own skill set. I want you to discover what you love, and what your strengths are, and we'll work on pieces that you want to learn. Classical, pop, modern, older standards, musicals, boogie, blues, or even a little jazz, whatever your heart desires. I will never force you into anything that is not fun for you. You will love your lessons. That’s a promise!
