I've been teaching in the Bay Area for over fifteen years and have learned quite a bit more from teaching than I ever expected. Finding new ways to explain music to a diverse group of students with different strengths and weaknesses has been a rewarding experience. My degree in music from N.I.U. has helped me approach the drum set as a melodic instrument capable of expressing musical ideas beyond the role of time keeper. My experience as a freelance musician has made me familiar with a variety of different styles so I can cover what most students are interested in. And most importantly, I like to see the students have fun and get a sense of reward from their practice.

Robert Price 4 years agoI’m a drummer for a rock band and a student of Otto Huber. Under his tutelage I have been able to improve in several needed areas on my overall drumming. He has also provided for me a more personalized and focused instruction in specific areas to improve my technique & skill. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced drummer, and combined with his professional approach to instruction, has allowed me to overcome some personal barriers and challenges I’ve had. I’ve definitely improved my ability & sound for my rock band.
